Ok, so now it's been almost two years again since I've used this thing.  This has been A Year.  You know.  <lj-cut>I mean actually for me personally it hasn't been completely bad, but still.  All things considered we've been extremely lucky.  Husband and I were both only furloughed for three weeks each when all the shutdowns happened, and heck I made more on unemployment than I did working.  That's messed up.  We redid the kitchen with all the free time, got a gas stove and heater, new fridge and new hvac since our air conditioner decided to quit.  I... did not know those things needed yearly maintenance, oops.

Work stuff!  So I'm still at my same job, hit my seven year workiversary this summer.  Yay?  I'm still in my little corner of t-shirts and shiny things, and now I'm backup in the cash office too.  Dealing with the money isn't that hard, and I get to sit by myself in a little room, which is nice.  Husband left his job at the hospital for a sports medicine surgery center in Chattanooga.  We almost sold The House.  Got as far as an insultingly lowball offer before things at the clinic went kind of sideways and we decided we'd been maybe a little hasty.  So we're still here.  I didn't really want to move anyway, even though I do like Chattanooga.  Husband left that job back in August or thereabout to come back to the hospital, but in pacu instead of surgery.  It's a weird three night weekend shift but he gets the rest of the week off so woo I guess.  It's weird sleeping without him; haven't had to do that since the Army days.  I've adjusted for the most part.  The plan is for him to get some XP there, get his bachelor's at some point and maybe go PRNA and on to anesthesiology at some other point.  But for now he's on the covid floor and people are dying all the time and it sucks.  He works hard, they all do.

Car stuff!  Back last winter husband actually let the Mustang go.  We rode down to Kennesaw and traded for a shiny new Subaru!  Her name is Delilah and she is amazing and we love her.  Got a trailer hitch put on, and eventually we'll get a small trailer so we can actually haul stuff, and more eventually we'll get some sort of little RV.  Woo!  We're paying extra on the principal every month so going to be done with payments sooner rather than later, then we'll be looking to get me something maybe.  Bitsy (that's my little Honda <3) isn't really starting to go or anything but I guess it would be nice to get an upgrade?  I don't even know what I would want.

Family stuff!  Did I mention my sister got married?  She did!  They just hit their three year anniversary, and I love my BIL to death.  He is a good guy.  They were living down near Savannah, but last year (I think? I forget) they moved back up thisaway.  They're actually only a couple miles from me!  So that's actually pretty cool.  I pop over there when they're out of town to take care of their cats (mom and dad keep the dogs), and they come by to take care of my babies when I'm out so it's pretty handy.  But omg they have a zoo!  They had the three cats and two dogs when they moved up here, and then they went and also adopted two more cats that turned up randomly at different times.  So I have three litterboxes to clean when I go, woohoo.  They're good kitties though so it's worth it.  The newest adoptee has finally warmed up to people, so last time I took care of everykitty she gave me a headbutt and a play bite!  It was The Best.  Which leads me to...

My babies!  Reven had her thirteenth birthday this April!  She still kittens like crazy and no one believes she's as old as she is.  Ringo is at least twelve by now, and aside from the white snoot and not being quite as fast as he used to be he's still energetic as all hell.  They're both doing great!  And then last month?  We got a puppy!  His name is Cosmo and he's a heeler/corgi mix, which is apparently called a Cowboy Corgi.  Because yes.  So he has the smarts and the stubbornness and he's an absolute little shit and we love him.  Ringo made friends with him in under a week, and Reven is being surprisingly patient with him for the most part.  He's four months old yesterday!  We are happy family.

Had our twelve year anniversary last week.  It still doesn't feel like it's been that long.  My parents are hitting their 40 next February.  *goals*</lj-cut>

So... yep.  I've made an update!
